Sansei Restaurant coming to Big Island

I'm excited that Sansei Restaurant is opening a location at the Queens' MarketPlace in Waikoloa on February 11th. This is THE best Jananese / Sushi restaurant in the world (IMHO). Has anyone else been to the ones in Kihei and Kapalua, Maui? I drool thinking about it and can't wait!

Hawaii chef D.K. Kodama will open a new Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar next month at the Queens' MarketPlace in Waikoloa on the Big Island.

When it opens Feb. 11, the restaurant will add to three others the company runs on Oahu and Maui.

Sansei will hold a preview and tasting event at the new restaurant on Sunday, Feb. 10. Tickets are $100, with proceeds going to Hawaii Island United Way.

Sansei has restaurants in Kapalua and Kihei on Maui and in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. Kodama also runs d.k. Steak House in the Waikiki Marriott.

It wasn't terrible, it's just that I have had much better. I should give it another chance on the next trip out and see if it has improved since it opened.

Another let down steak house in Waikiki is Hy's. People rave about. I didn't think it was so great.
