They are back. One passed out on the sidewalk in front of Napa at 5:30am today, saw two others just wandering around, plus a newer one - 25 yo woman who was standing outside 7-11 doors, talking to herself with very slurred speech and having a tough time walking.

the song is "the boys are back in town". It's referencing the homeless situation and mirroring what SBH said about compassion rather than contempt, and kalakoa talking about medical instead of criminal. Instead of the bums, it's the boys! A more positive take.

This will continue so long as the "problem" is considered "criminal" rather than "medical" -- trhis is what you get in a "law and order" society.

Exactly. Until the community shows compassion rather than contempt the issue will never be solved.

SBH - These particular people (except for the young woman, never seen her before) have repeatedly refused help (except for their EBT and free medical care) and have refused to try to do anything positive for Pahoa. They contribute zero to society except for the free deposits of urine, feces and trash they leave around the storefronts of Pahoa. Time to do another cleaning of the village.

I know plenty of homeless people here that have found communal living situations and contribute labor in exchange for room and board. Others that rent or squat on bare land and sleep in a tent. Hard to have much compassion for some of the assholes that make their laziness and dirtiness everyone elses problem.
