Plant It Hawaii this friday and saturday.
They are a wholesaler so they do not open their doors to the public except a couple times a year. http://plantithawaii.com/

I'm told they will sell to "the public" anytime ... for a $500 minimum order.

I have a Julie & Glenn from the PlantItHawaii sale... the Julie is not anthracnose resistant, but is a super compact dwarf
Planted 4.5 years ago, chosen due to their dwarfing characteristics... The Julie, a super dwarf tree I would highly recommend...even though not anthracnose resistant, has bloomed each year (pinched back the first year) and this year, the 3rd fruiting years, has had 3 flushes of flower/fruit set & is starting a 4th flower flush....ie, we have had fruit set in each of the last 3 months, so could have fruit ripening over 3 months, rather than all at once Each of the last 2 years, one flower/fruit set, with 14, then 25 fruits... Has maintained a very compact size & shape, less than 6 feet tall without pruning The Glenn has exceeded my expectation for growth, reached over 25ft last year & I had to prune back... and has not had any flowers... at all

quote: I have to say I'm legit fascinated by where this weird strain of radical feminism came from and for how long it's been a thing in Puna, or Punaweb at least. I've noticed Mimosa saying "womyn" and Gypsy69 too, even though he's apparently a guy, and now this off-topic, totally random bit of misandry. So, is this mostly a Hawai'ian thing or a Punaweb thing? G#, I'm pretty sure that was a joke. But... I'm a man, so don't take my word for it.
I'm bummed I don't have more green waste or planting spots ready. I will need to find some more lava cracks before Friday!

quote: I just clicked on the link. I bet they have some nice stock. Is there a reputable supplier at any of the farmers markets (or elsewhere) with more reasonable pricing?

Nice, I have found that PlantItHawaii stock has been the best growing,(i.e., everything that I have planted from them has grown well...even the flowerless Glenn mango GROWS well....
& I ould definitely go with their Julie Mango..... if I get a hole dug in time (wish I could undo the Glenn choice.... & that mango may become expensive firewood if it remains fruitless...) |
