dispensary licenses up for renewal!
#1
The latest Pacific Business News has a funny (to me) article about the fact that dispensary licenses are up for renewal despite the fact that none of them have made any money.

Assuming they all renew, that's another $400K for State, on top of the nearly $1M they've already collected.

Also mentioned: not only are there no test labs yet, they must certify that the product is free of pesticides -- but nobody knows which pesticides, because State hasn't made a list.

Meanwhile: Canada has approved recreational marijuana legislation (to take effect in 2018), and Mexico has passed legislation to legalize medical marijuana.

Same issue of PBN (April 28, 2017, page 3) has an article quoting Ige bemoaning the painfully slow pace at which our State government operates.

He also was candid in saying that not everyone within the state is looking to increase its efficiency.

In years passed, it was called the "iron rice bowl" - of course the unions elected Ige so don't expect him to actually change things...
