Can anyone fill me in on the process for the presidential caucuses here in Hawaii? I've never lived in a caucus state before and it looks like Hawaii's delegates may actually matter, at least on the Democratic side.

Puna includes 5 (Eden Roc) 3 (Keaau town & around & Hilo side of 11) and 4 (lower Puna including most of Hawaiian Acres)
I have read that you must register prior to the caucus (10 days) but could only find that unregistored voters can cast a "wiki wiki" ballot. What's that?

The caucus site is not your normal voting site. for all of district 4 (most of lower Puna) the Democrat Party caucus site is Pahoa Community Center on Kauhale Street in Pahoa.
The Democrat Party caucus sites for Puna include:
District 3
All Precincts - ILWU Hall, 100 West Lanikaula in Hilo.
District 4
All Precincts - Pahoa Community Center on Kauhale Street in Pahoa
District 5
Precinct 1,2,3 Cooper Center

So what exactly are we voting for today? Democratic or republican presidental nominee? Are they including local elections?

This is the Democrat Party's meeting & caucus (this is not a primary election, so there are no ballots, etc.) The choice today is on the 20 Democrat electoral votes in the state that are not assigned to supers. (each caucus district is for one)
The meetings open at 6:30, & everything I have heard says to get there early, as this is going to be the largest (by far) caucus here ever.... & expect confusion, as most of the caucus-ers are new & there will be a lot of new volunteers...
The meeting starts at 7:00 (with Democrat party business. Then the caucus. The earliest dismissal is 7:30, but some may go longer (esp. if there is a lot of confusion.)

Just because I got curious (i.e. "why is it only the Democrats are voting for a candidate today"), I did a little research. Apparently, the Republican party in Hawaii does not vote for a candidate -- they have caucuses (cauci?) to vote for the delegates to the Hawaii State Republican Party Convention on May 19th. No polling of candidate choice is made at the caucus. At the Convention in May, the Republicans will elect 19 people (from 1093 going to the State Convention) to go to the National Republican Convention and those 19 people will go as uncommitted delegates.
That means that, once again, Hawaii could be in a position to have some influence (for once) on which candidate goes to the vote in November. Those 19 votes could be important if the Romney delegates don't follow Romney's endorsement of McCain and lead to a bit of a split within the party.
Most likely it won't amount to anything, but at least both parties finally have reason to pay attention to these little rocks in middle of the Pacific.
