google added a new cool feature to maps...

Try look at the terrain feature in google maps.... Check box next to sat view top right hand corner of map.

www.maps.google.com It's really cool and gives you an idea of where lava will flow. Shows valleys hills and shaded previous flows. Check out the shaded 1840, 1960, etc lava flows. It's just cool to see all the creators and cliff lines...

A whole new tool to get idea of where things are on the island!

That feature was available for some time. The new thing is Google Earth now has hi-res maps of almost all of Puna.

Impressive... I just zoomed in on my house there! I wasn't able to get that clear of a picture less then 3 months ago.

I wonder when this latest picture was taken.

The part of the picture including central HPP is at least a year and a half to two years old. It doesn't show a house on our road that has been there that long.
