building code exceptions

This is just something I have been pondering I put it on this forum because there’s too much real time need and heart break in the lava flow forum

Do the building code exemptions prove it’s not about safety.
How can it be that it wasn’t safe yesterday for somebody to live in the 10 x 12 shed. And it won’t be safe tomorrow (whenever). But it safe today during hurricane season with a 5+ earthquake every 24 hours.

When our county wants to do something, or their family and friends, the codes don't apply do they?

This is Hawaii County. A modern plantation. We citizens are here to serve them and do what we are told.

Different set of elites after the 1954 "revolution" is all.
This elite is probably less competent and more corrupt though.
