Should I contact a plumber, or a contractor? I think either they would have to remove the tub/shower, or cut the drywall for access in a closet to get to the leak.

Yep, have u looked in ur ceiling? Also u can take the fittings off and ck. Turn water off to repair

Ceiling there looks fine. I fought that battle with a roof vent to our half bathroom in another area.
