Finding ho'o ponopono in the aftermath of the eruption

The eruption in Puna has been a very intense event, throwing many of us into fear and grief. Yet Pele is a creator as much as a destroyer; she creates new land, and her apparent destruction is similar to what we do when we build a house: we destroy everything that is living there before we start anew.

We are 2 Leilani residents who work with people to empower them to reach into the flow of sacred life-force that moves through all of us. That life force is the source of huge potential. We invite all those in Leilani who have experienced fear and grief in the last few months to come together with a willingness to acknowledge the gifts behind what has appeared to be a tragedy. By giving voice to our fear and grief, we can let it pass, and connect with the joyful creativity within, so that each of us can dance our own fiery joyful dance, just as each of the fissures illustrated so vividly.

We will call on the unseen beings that live here on this island, offering them our friendship and asking for their help; we will connect with our own personal guides; we will chant and sing out our feelings, opening the throat chakra. This is an opportunity for everyone to express themselves in whatever way they feel called, but it is not a time to analyze or make decisions in the rational arena. Our intention is to get in touch with our own personal inner wisdom, that “knows” much more than the rational brain. By doing this, and releasing our fears, we learn to operate from a place of trust, which is far more likely to bring us enjoyable results.
