The Hawai'i Board of Geographic Names is planning to establish a Permitted Interaction Group to investigate and make recommendations on the naming of Fissure 8
Roads? Housing? No, but we've got "recommendations" on the naming of a lava feature located on private property...

I vote for the most obscure impossible to spell or pronounce name so that tourists are unable to locate Leilani on a map.
However, I think it is way too late. The world already knows it as Fissure 8.

I was thinking the fissure could be called Uh`O.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Perhaps the property owner should auction off the naming rights. They would get "recovery" dollars, and State could redirect funding from the Board of Geographic Names to help Leilani.

"Permitted Interaction Group" sounds like something out of Hawaii's dystopian future...
And the acronym it forms is so cool too.
