Sen Kahele and his Tmt flip flop lol
#1
http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2019/0...se-update/

Now that he has put his hat in the ring. He thinks we wont remember the time he tried to kill the TMT PROCESS by putting forth a bill to kill the entire tmt situation.

I remember recently, when i protested at the hilo bandstand ( recently,on MLK day)

FOR TMT,FOR THE KEKIES, FOR STEM, FOR THE SCIENCE education

advancement,(which would have died a horrible death at his hands should any lawmakers been stupid enough to vote for his anti TMT. bill) He ignoed that i was there wih signs picketing him and positive
Picket for the Kids.

He left wihin 8 minutes. He almost forgot the fancy Hawaiian ,and US flags ,which i saw hit the ground in his haste to not talk to me.

I said hi Senator Kai. No answer? His mom said the man said good morning to u Kai. Opps he had to reply now. I said I miss ur dad he was a good friend. He said yes he was, goodbye,Kai said. And he and his PR crew was gone,no disscussion on that fun Im greatest day for him.

Aloha Kai, im watching u and will not forget what u did to kill the STEM AND TMT programs. Every body i talked to has said " oh yeah i remember him trying to kill the TMT,and didnt he do that to get da Hawaiian vote back then eh" so we have a good memory dude.

I love the kids, they are whats going to make it possible to save the earth, with there super sharp minds and the best we could give them to protect and save the Aina.

Pleas join with me to NOT VOTE FOR Sen Kahele for us Seanator in 2020.
He is Not the same person as his Caring Father, the real Senator Kahele may he Rest IN peace the kind caring,Gentle Man that he was.
Aloha

The "gut and replace" TMT episode left a bad taste in my mouth, too. It was not only dishonest and underhanded, but a blatant sop to grab some Hawaiian radical's votes. No support at all for Kai Kahele from me. Oh, and it's the U.S House of Representatives he's running for, not the Senate.

Time for a reboot. Suppose we drop “TMT” all together, and call the whole complex a “Medical Center”. As doctors, they can have whatever “instruments” they need. Drowning in pork, a high tech telescope would cost almost nothing, most might not even notice it.

Ditto, dan d, I interacted quite a bit with Gil Kahele and thought very highly of him. A real gentleman, down to earth, and full of aloha for the community and what was best for the community. Really too sad that his son isn't willing to follow the same path that was so well established by his Dad... He will never see a vote from me...

Killing STEM??
That's absurd. We don't want a nuclear reactor either; isn't that killing STEM as well?

STEM science technical engineering Math
Sorry about his direction in Washington, in reality, hes a major in the army i believe, perhaps on the coat heals as well? If not at least a free education,After 1.5 yrs in the State assembly and not even vetted yet ,he feels he can represent us in Washington????? i had to earn mine by protecting him during the cold war, and i helped as a measly 3 rd class. At least it kept him from getting nuked. His dad had a certain down home grace to him ,that made u geel special and a real person.

The orange might have fallen from the wrong tree this time perhaps. Lol

snorkle - I suspect, but am not certain, that dan_d's point is funding for STEM-related education will be significantly impacted on the island if the TMT isn't built here. I think that's a true statement since the TMT comes with money for education, scholarships etc.

On the other hand, the example you used, a nuclear reactor, is definitely unwelcome in the islands but that industry rarely comes with scholarship and intern positions or opportunities to be involved in world-leading research with money specifically targetted towards STEM. They just want people to operate their plants.

You're comparing apples with oranges.

Heres a real eye opener about Sen Kaheles approach to removing TMT and STEM from hawaii.Hes stupid enough to slit his own throat politically, knowing 70 % of his constituents disagree with his feelings about removing TMT and STEM from The Big Island.
His Agenda must be stopped at all levels ,please help. We will march soon with the STEM kids in Hilo ,will u please support us by walking with us? My 87 yr old Mom did om MLK day. Will u help protect our Kekies from Sen Kaheles unfair willingness to kill there futures?
I will.
Aloha

I think you guys need more STEM education, because there are now safe nuclear designs that we could utilize on our islands:

In any case, Kahele has shown himself to be two-faced and I'm not sure I believe he is actually supporting the TMT even now.
