Think we could do it? Paper plates, chopsticks, paper cups...
Would "bottled water" come in glass? Cans? Not at all?

Good!
Hawaii is becoming known as one of the most environmentally progressive states in the US:
In recent years, bills that might seem too bold to gain traction in other state houses have become law in Hawaii, gaining worldwide attention.
Policymakers in the overwhelmingly Democratic state House -- with 1 Republican state senator and 5 Republicans in the state House -- have pushed forward a wave of ambitious progressive legislation. The state has banned certain kinds of sunscreen, raised the legal smoking age and committed to the Paris climate accord's goals.

Let's continue the good work.

RWR, what's "AOC"?
Also, are we better off banning plastics, or increasing the redemption value of plastics to, say, $1 per bottle?

Banning plastic straws seemed, at first, to be silly. After some reflection, I now see straws as more symbolic of our feckless lifestyle. It causes one to think about plastic use. Does anyone drink beverages from straws at home? Why would one of the community's favorite restaurants (mine, too) serve frosted rim margaritas with a straw? I asked for no straw. There are certainly far greater sources of plastic pollution than straws. Yet the lessons learned could be consequential. "Where's my straw, mommy?" "Do you need one, honey?"

Might miss the plastic utensils but I certainly wont miss the plastic bottles. It wasn't that many years ago, everything came in a glass jar or bottle.

How could anyone miss plastic utensils? They're an abomination.
