In the few months the big island has kill several 100 jobs. First the water bottling plant then the rocket launching pad and looks like we are killing TMTT. These where high paying jobs. I guess we all should work at retail. Glad I dont have kids trying to make a living here. Lets all go on welfare.

I've been wondering for quite some time: after the protectors get everything shut down, what will be have for an economy?

Worried about the economy?....Jobs?.........
Maybe we could learn from the host culture who thrived for centuries without container ships, big box retail or giant resorts.
Food and energy sustainability are old ideas that now can benefit from new technology. The Big Island has the potential to be the bread basket of the state and become energy independent.
Aquaponics, sustainable agriculture, fuel from oil palms, schools promoting trades and entrepreneurship............

Unlikely: anything that isn't "desecration" or "near someone's house" will be smothered by permitting and regulations. Pearl's Bakery comes to mind.

You should conduct The Snorkle Poll on this question. See what % of people living in Hawaii consider that a lifestyle they would pursue and accept.
Remind them, no smartphones. No cars.

Irrelevant when "protectors" can simply override any decision, permit, court ruling.
