Home Depot has a container at the entrance for rechargeables, as well as one for fluorescent bulbs.

I put alkalines there but it doesn't list alkalines, only rechargeables. Kinda feel guilty.

Realize we're still waiting for the composting facility.... Mail them to a friend who lives somewhere with functional recycling.

According to the internet there is nothing in alkaline batteries that are "bad" for the landfills and most recycling centers only accept rechargeables and throw the alkalines into the trash.

Should have checked myself. Yup, the internet says modern alkaline batteries are non toxic. Older ones had mercury but not anymore. Good to know.

Never use duracel in any thing u dont want covered in acid in 3 months. Never
