Kehena Beach People Getting Mobbed
#1
What's up with the recent muggings at Kehena Beach?

...Coastal activities along the Puna coastline also have been wild, with three reported muggings in the Kehena area during the past two weeks, Naeole said, adding that's why she wants to create a ranger program for the entire coast....

These people need to be stopped before the muggings turn into dissappearances and/or murders.

Anywhere where the government takes away the rights of the people to defend themselves this type of thing gets to be a bigger and bigger problem. Concealed weapon permit, taser, stun gun, and normal pepper spray are all illegal here. The Criminals know that unless you are a big bad ass, or a hidden black belt, you wont have ANYWAY to defend yourself unless you are breaking the law. That makes us all pretty helpless. Add that the police are far away and take forever to respond to the scene, and you have a wonderful environment for crime. I know I love making the decision to either break the law or risk my life anytime I go to a remote beach. And thank the Government of Hawaii for deciding we are all criminals, and that we will only use a Concealed Weapon Permit, taser, Stun gun or normal pepper spray for crimes.

This post makes a good segway into another TH article.

Prosecutors want to seize Edwin Ung's sports car because he allegedly used it in the commission of a crime outside of the former Charley's Bar & Grill in Keaau.

During a Feb. 23 shouting match outside of the bar, Ung of Hawaiian Paradise Park allegedly pointed a pistol at two people while seated in the Ford.

The altercation began, according to court documents, when Allen Y.C. Kealoha Jr. heard Ung revving his 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 engine while the Ford was backed into a parking space at Ace Hardware.

Kealoha allegedly took the engine-revving as a challenge to fight.

I wonder if it's the same guys that did This a year ago?

....While at a public beach in Kehena, a 30-year-old female was reportedly struck by the men while they took personal property and cash from her....

And then there is This 2001 incident at Kehena:

******* was found Friday at the base of a 40-foot cliff at Kehena beach. Police are asking anyone who saw the woman at Kehena that morning to call them at 961-2384.

And KITV reported back in 2006 the Concerns of Big Island residents about the Kehena area:

The residents are concerned over the increase of illegal activity at Kehena Beach in Hilo.
Community members and police officers made a sweep of the area, hoping to stem the rise of vehicle break-ins and assaults around the beach.

And I'm sure that there are plenty of "unreported" attacks as well.[V]

Army basic training mantra (as applied to Kehena):

This is my rifle and THIS is my gun.......

One is for shooting and one is for fun......
