From the link:
... about $7.8 million in spending that’s potentially fraudulent... The spending included $2.6 million for a contract for a Native Hawaiian constitutional convention “that lacked proof of how the money was spent.” Beneficiaries. With apologies to The Princess Bride, "OHA trustees keep using that word. I do not think it means what they think it means.”

The state will do nothing because hawaiian issues are political radioactive. It time for the FBI to step in.

As far as I am concerned the humbug with OHA is an Hawaiian issue. They get the money as beneficiaries of long ago emplaced federally required allotments. From there, as far as I am concerned, the management of that money, good or bad, is an Hawaiian issue. Encourage them, educate them, but let them work it out for themselves.
Anything more would be like me coming to your house and telling you what is right and wrong about the way you live your life. Hey man, you're squandering your money! Would you like your neighbor to come over and tell you like that?

If my neighbor gave me money as my sole means of support, and I constantly went over to his house and explained I should get more because I squandered what he already gave me, he might have good reason to tell me a thing or two. Also, greedy OHA trustees seemingly believe the term “beneficiaries” means them personally and their extended family. Do they all have a sign on their desk which says “The Bucks Stop Here. Checks & Wire Transfers Too”.

So long as "the Hawaiians" are paying for it, I don't care what OHA does with the money.

Squandering of taxpayer money is of concern to every taxpayer, no matter how entitled the recipient feels, or their apologists.
Interesting word, "humbug", usually only used in Dickens novels and by foul trolls on Punaweb. I hope you behave yourself in your new identity glindakine.

A quick google shows that nearly every use of "humbug" on punaweb has been from dakine, glinda, or hokuili (all the same person, a wannabe Hawaiian from California).
But anyway, enough of your personality problems, if you like your dollars being wasted then please send your donations straight to OHA. |
