Antibodies for COVID19
#1
Hey I know it may seem a little far-fetched at this stage of the game however indulge me if you will please. If anyone reads or hears about a test kit available that reveals if you have antibodies for COVID pls post here. It may be rumor or not, but I'm hearing that many people in Puna feel pretty certain they had it in December and January after reading about the symptoms from confirmed case recoveries. That would be awesome to know one can abandon this insanity and walk about freely knowing one could not spread nor contract the illness.

Well almost but not. An excerpt from the article....

A doctor still needs to prescribe the test, so telemedicine doctors from PWNHealth, a national network of physicians who prescribe diagnostic tests, then reviews these answers to determine if a person qualifies for testing, based on criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Currently, because COVID-19 tests are not plentiful in the U.S., doctors are trying to rule out other respiratory diseases like flu first, and only ordering tests for people with symptoms who also have other risk factors for infection, such as being in close contact with others who have been diagnosed.

I think it should be prioritized at some point, those with antibodies could work with patients on many different levels, could help protect the general public as cashiers, any job with close proximity, and on.

Not recommending it, but I'm pretty sure anybody can BS their way through the survey and get the test if they wanted to.

I like your idea about antibody testing. Practically impossible anyone in Puna had this in December. Possibly January. First cluster of disease was noted in Wuhan on last day of December.

"First cluster of disease was noted in Wuhan on last day of December."

That's already been adjusted up to beginning of December by virologists who have studied the virus. I'm not suggesting any earlier Puna exposure. But the communist party of China only reports it's version of "facts".

A relative was in Italy in January and felt unwell, now she too is wondering whether she already had it. I doubt it. Not worth spending $$$ on I think.

As this epidemic began in early December and only in China, then by Jan 20 there were only 4 recorded confirmed cases outside of China.
They did increase to 154 by Jan 31.
The growth in worldwide cases had just begun at the end of Jan.

With its incubation rate, anyone in Puna that had it back in Dec or Jan would either be at or near the end of their infection or dead, and would have started infections in others.

Your whole premise that COVID-19 might have been in Puna back then belongs in "Completely unsubstantiated Coronavirus Rumors".

But who knows, after the initial rush is over and those that that are deemed in need of the testing have been tested, you probably could buy yourself a test at what ever the going rate for a test is.
You can be sure it won't be cheap, though.
