It has been some weeks since PW went down. I hope everyone is well. Let us know what you've been up to.
For my part the loss of PW was a surprise and frankly it took me a week or so to wrap my head around it. John Schinnerer, our long time web master, began investigating. It has not been determined if the hack that affected PW was intentional or a bot. It doesn't really matter.
So now we have a new more stable platform and should be good for the years ahead. Our past has been restored.
My weeks have been largely normal. Self employed I have no change in my daily. Business has been slow to non existent with the pandemic but the only change in my daily has been wearing a mask when shopping and gloves when doing things like pumping gas.
Best wishes to you all. Let us know how you've been doing.
Aloha

We've been sheltering in place as much as we can. It's no longer mandatory in California but with pre-existing conditions we need to. We miss Hilo, Puna (Paolo's!), Hamakua. I bring up the Hilo Tsunami Museum web cam at least once a day and put it on my 43" monitor. The Kapohokine webcams have bedn offline for some time. Glad to see the number of cases in Hawaii hasn't exploded like some states. Also glad Punaweb is back and I can check in virtually/vicariously since I can't be there physically. Hope all are well.

I had to create a new username since the email on the old Punaweb was deleted by Spectrum.
I’m a newbie once again!
But anyway
A huge mahalo nui loa for getting us the new punaweb!

Hey Rob,
Thanks for your work in getting this going again.
Anybody going to punaweb.org gets a message saying a link will be put there when the forum is available. They may not know it's available. I know these softwares enough to try appending the /forum/ to the address to get here, but not everybody knows that.
Also, my username/password didn't work, however I was able to reset the password because the email I used when signing up for punaweb originally still works. That won't be the case for everybody.
I'm familiar with this forum software, you can manually go in and change 8fingers email or reset the account etc so you don't wind up with a bunch of users with two account names.
Just a suggestion here- you might want to put on the punaweb.org splash page ]a link to the forum along with instructions on how to reset non-functioning accounts or to email you for assistance.

Bit of a freakish coincidence that I just happened to look into Punaweb today after some years away. Looked like pau for a minute. Nice new set up, added features. Quite plush. Def has that new car smell.
Hanging in there up mauka. Strange times. Unnerving yet peaceful. Refocus, persevere.

Been missing Punaweb! Every time something happened in the neighborhood, or I read something crazy in the news, or the night sky was particularly beautiful, I missed coming here to talk about it! Thanks everyone that pitched in, and Rob for sticking with it, even if it was on "Hawaii Time".
We've been improving and enjoying our acreage while stuck at home, and occasionally the county beach parks now that we are in the "eye of the storm". I suspect the virus will be back with us soon as we open up travel... Stay safe and wear your masks!
Is the site fully loaded now? If so, can we get rid of all the "gcid" stuff at the end of the forums and topics? Likely just a couple simple SQL updates in the database.
ETA: you can replace your web host's gator icon with your own if you upload at least a favicon.ico. Hit me up if you want help with any of this.

The Punagator is our new mascot.
Bringing this back to the OP's original question "how is everybody doing":
We got a new puppy, a Belgian Malinois, just as the pandemic started. It was a blessing. On one hand as we were stuck at home it gave us project to work on. On the other hand, the puppy obedience / socialization classes were cancelled and we weren't able to take him to places to socialize him. Now that things are relaxed he has been through his first set of classes and we have been able to take him to some parks etc, though some have remained closed. This is a breed that needs a LOT of socialization and although we have done our best, he is suspicious and needs more work.
On the farm we accelerated a lot of our gardening plans. Some of it was due to having more time on the homestead, some of it was "just in case". Either way all it did was bring a future outcome into the present.
The pigs have been brutal, destroying fences and uprooting our pastures. Miraculously, we caught 12.5 pigs in a trap meant for 1. They were literally stacked on each other and it defied all of the laws of physics for it to happen. But it did. That is too many pigs to butcher so we gave many of them to neighbors/friends. In case you are wondering how one catches half a pig, it is the unfortunate result of a big steel guillotine trap door closing on a piglet that was only 1/2 way into the trap. One of the wife's friends quipped, "Leave it to somebody from Alaska to catch 12.5 pigs in a trap meant for 1."
Our freezers are just about bursting with farm raised meats, we have plenty of toilet paper, a new puppy dog on the farm, we're healthy, and everything is good on our slice of Puna.
I hope everyone else is doing as well.

Things are well here although the project list doesn't seem to be getting any shorter.
The new 'apocalypse' raised bed garden has corn that is now about ripe. However, rats apparently like corn and don't wait for it to be picked before they will eat it. We've hopefully got a handle on that and hope for corn from the garden next week. The garden was one of the first projects done during the stay at home in early April.
The back yard is half fenced for sheep. It will only be a quarter acre fenced so only two sheep, but way less mowing, we hope.
There's also the fixer-upper we've been fixing and upping. Huge progress there, although it's still not done but we hope to have it ready to rent in another month or so.
Hopefully those folks on the mainland are gonna manage to get their numbers to go down, but I'm not actually expecting that to happen any time soon. They seem to not be paying attention to social distancing and wearing masks. Hopefully Hawaii will manage to continue to keep the case numbers down.

Thanks for getting Punaweb back up & running Rob. It looks great.
And thanks for the email terracore, I appreciate the heads up.
All’s well in my neck of the woods. The garden is going gang busters, and I’ve been working daily on projects around the property. Business is almost non-existent, which I expected would be the case, so that’s fine. Hope everyone is well, like the vast majority of residents in Puna and Hawaii who weren’t exposed to the virus.
Highlights of stay-at-home:
My sister mailed me baking yeast. Couldn’t find any in Hilo.
I now watch movies almost at the same rate I save them for later on my streaming services.
Home Depot gave me the sale price on a cordless chain saw, even though the sale was over. It rang up higher than the price listed on the shelf, an associate checked and said they forgot to remove the sale price tag - - but they’d honor it. I didn’t even have to ask!
