BJ Penn Why Allow Mickeys to Dictate things?

I love it!

Mickey's is the type of Beer I drink and BJ Penn has now accepted to be Sponsored by the company.

I was already in talks with another Punaweb member about getting a Kegerator made.

One of my main concerns was whether Mickey's would be available in Keg Format here in Puna.

With BJ's new sponsorship... I'm sure I can work some magic!

And how this relates to PUNA...

Well BJ is from PUNA.

Mickeys happens to be one of the most affordable beers right now per alcohol content.

Many of us in PUNA are always looking for the best deal. [B)]

*edit* the above post was posted after consuming a mickeys... after further thought on the subject... I'm re-thinking some things.

two correction if you don't mind Damon. One, BJ is from Hilo, not PUNA! Two, I hate to break your heart. But that disgusting drink called "Mickey's" is not a beer! It's a nasty ass thing called "malt liquor ", and that is not beer!!!!

Well actually BJ is from Kailua, Oahu.... and only moved here []

And I've had some good "Malt Liquors".... It's just that my budget only allows me them to drink them on occasion now. [^]

I guess no one is going to pick up on what I thought somebody might do...

Does BJ realize that he's getting suckered into a contract that goes against his beliefs in promoting a positive message to the youths?

Does Anyone remember the Old English Commercials geared toward Black Folks or more recently the St. Ides Commercials?

BJ picking up this Malt Liquor sponsorship will only lead to more youths in PUNA drinking Mickeys!

It's like BJ just went and put a KOOL cigarette tattoo across his back... although it could read "Mickey's"

BJ is an athlete here that many kids look up to, and I don't feel that he should be promoting or sponsoring a liquor that is aimed towards residents that do not have the income that some other residents may have.

He is promoting a strong alcoholic beverage at a very low price.... [B)]

Heck... I'm sure he's making bank off this contract.... maybe even more then he get's for his actual fights.... part of the perks of being a world champion....

However, While I like Mickeys for the economic concept of drinking beer... I didn't start drinking it because of someone who I looked up to was sponsored by it.

There is a real sociological impact of what BJ Promoting this Malt Liquor to the people of Hawaii and how he represents Hawaii in general.

I'm babbling... but I'm sure there are others that know where I want to go with this rant.

BJ... love your fighting... just kind of question your latest sponsors motivation.

brah, you don't have to justify with me why you enjoy Malt Liquor! Trust me Damon, you're not the only one who swears by that nasty stuff! There are plenty other disheveled souls who are in the same pit as you.
I mean just the name, " Malt Liquor" reeks coolness. For that reason alone I assume many people drink it, or use it? "Yo Baby, care for a splash of my big 40 0z Malt Liquor"?

I got this picture in my head Damon. You standing around at a Punaweb Party with 40oz Colt 45 in your hand. Wearing a "Member's Only" jacket with a pair of cool matching bell bottoms jeans. You'd be the coolest at any Punaweb party!

Trust me... I wouldn't be caught dead with a 40oz Colt 45! I won't touch that stuff.

You see... in the Pacific Northwest, where I'm originally from, Mickeys is sold in 6 packs with the wide mouth bottles. They are actually kind of expensive there.

So it was really cool when I moved to Hawaii and I found out that Mickeys was Cheap here!

"Members Only" jacket.... don't go there...
"bellbottoms" Hell Yeah!!! Bring back the 70's.... Where are my "San Francisco Riding Gear" Bell Bottom pants?

There is no way I could be the coolest at a Punaweb party.... That honor would have to go to someone who is Still Hoping. []
