Where's a good place on the East side to get batteries that aren't so expensive that it would be cheaper to waste 5 hours and a half tank of gas to go to Costco? I tried Walmart and their battery section was mostly just bare shelves and nothing that would fit my truck.

I shopped a high CCA battery recently and ended up at Pahoa Auto Parts.

Interstate in Hilo - ask for blemished or out of date ones. They give a nice discount and who cares if the case is scratched or it is a month out of date?

Interstate was "more" than a Walmart battery -- by about 30% -- but so far it's lasted 3x as long.

The battery I'm replacing is an interstate deep cycle. I got 10 years out of it. I've had good luck with that brand.

I agree with Rob. Pahoa Auto Parts. They have a good stock of interstate batteries. They also carry a really cheap line for those who just need something to keep their jungle cruiser going.
With the price of gas and the hassle of traffic Pahoa is a better deal for me.

Plus, they are open "Seven Daze".

How can you not go there?
Seriously though, I have been there and the man is quite nice and helpful.

I went to Pahoa Auto Parts. They charged under the list price. $10 less than what the mainland Interstate battery website lists as suggested retail.
