Big land clearling near river in Hilo

So, a few months ago, there was a huge land clearing of old Hawaii vegetation growth at the mouth of the river in Hilo Bay. Does anyone know what is going on there?

which river?.... Wailuku or Waiakea ??........ they are very different ....
I can guarantee now that none of that stuff was native... prob just opening up the mouth...

Saw that too. Nobody on site to ask. Some HUGE table top SLABS there .. very cool.

The cleared land comprised of 3 parcels totaling 1.97 acres is up for sale through Coldwell. Most likely the clearing was to push out the homeless encampments. Interestingly, three little parcels totaling 4800 square feet, sit between that land and the highway.
