I wonder if anyone here can help me with a feral cat problem. I began feeding a wild, starving cat and she had kittens, so I've been feeding them also. I plan on buying a trap and taking them in to be spayed/neutered but the mom cat is pregnant again and don't want to keep so many cats. If you have any ideas for me, please tell me. The Humane Society does not accept unwanted animals anymore so there's no place to take them. This is like a nightmare because they'll just keep multiplying.
Thank you if you can help me. What would you do?

Pregnant cats can be spayed.
I thought there was a catch / neuter / release program here? They notch the ears so the fixed cats can be identified. Maybe the Humane Society can tell you who the group is running it?
I saw a flyer for free spay / neutering at the water spigots.
Tractor supply sells humane cat traps, or maybe one of your neighbors can loan you one? If you can't find one we might be able to loan you ours eventually. Somebody borrowed it and hasn't returned it yet.

At least the kittens didn't have kittens. Yet.
Not sure how far you want to drive, but here's a free clinic in Oceanview:

Right off the bat I would say call Rainbow Friends and they would be able to help.. and most likely take or help re-home.. all your friends. But their website..
https://rainbowfriends.org
Says they aren't taking new animals. Why that is, or how long it has been and will continue, I do not know. Though I wouldn't be shy about calling them and asking their advice regardless.
Alternatively, Seeske, the vet at Kilauea Veterinary Services..
https://www.kilaueaveterinaryservices.com
Is an angel.. and her office may be able to help guide you. Over the years, decades, Seeske and her staff have stepped in and helped in the community when the Humane Society has not been able to..
Good luck, and thanks for taking care of those less fortunate!

Thank you for all the suggestions. I've been calling everyone and everywhere for days and they either don't answer, don't call me back or, most often, can't help me. I will sign up for the petfix program when it opens up again. In the meantime, I'm going to buy a trap and start taking them to Seeske and hope and pray no one gets pregnant before I can catch them. They're so wild. Aloha.

Just a quick update on some options here.
PetFix is back up and running their free spay & neutering clinics, now at their new location in HPP: 15-1647 Keaau-Pahoa Rd (entrance is from the highway, makai side, between Kaloli and Orchidland, near the Thai food place). Animals get chipped, vaxxed, and ear-tipped. Can get pre-registered for a date or added to the waitlist at their website:

We've also had good experiences the low-cost option Good Karma in Hilo (Waiakea Villas, by the duck ponds, near Miyo's old location). $60 for ferals, includes ear-tip & flea/parasite treatment, other services also available.

Anyone have other good options? Got to keep on top of it or everyone is going to end up a
crazy cat lady! ;)

I appreciate and admire the work that Petfix is doing, but signing up with them at this point can be a problem.
I had tried signing up for a cat spay ( for ferals in my neighborhood ) for several days after first seeing their signage up on the highway, but kept getting bounced out of their website. The next time I saw their sign while driving into Hilo, I pulled into the site, hoping to have better luck. The woman I spoke to was very good, kind and patient, but told me that as of that day, they had almost 3,000 ( !!! ) cats on their wait list. She said that a notification is sent out via text when the next clinic will be held, and that the slots are usually filled within 15-20 minutes, first come first serve. As I have very poor cell reception at my home, I don't usually keep my phone glued to my hand, so using their services is not an option I can use.
Thanks for the info about Good Karma, will try to see if that is better for my situation.

For PetFix, what's worked for us is to keep an eye on their Facebook page for the announcement of the next clinic, and then sign-up right away when it posts. We were able to get a couple cats into this weekend's clinic via the announcement about two weeks back.
