I am a little bit alarmed at the tacit exclusion of men in these sorts of events. A "Family" includes men yet if I were one, I would not feel welcomed by the name of this event. Many of the "pro-women" groups are also "anti-men" and that's plain wrong and sexist. I'm not saying this one is particularly but by calling it "Womens & Family" it sorta excludes men in a tacit way.
The whole gender issue is a ying-yang sort of thing. You need them both and they are both important although they are very different from each other. In some areas you can have "equality" such as the same pay for the same work, yet in other areas there is no possible equality no matter how much one may want it - the classic example is giving birth which is generally a women's thing. Giving one gender preference in a family event where they should both be represented is not helping family solidarity.
