My husband and I have a son who's 4 and a daughter who is 15.
I'll be living in Hilo on Thursday, April 13th and working as a TSO at Hilo Airport.
My husband and children will be living in Hilo on Father's Day.
Do any Punawebbers have children and/or teenagers that are around 4 or 15 years of age?
Our son is a high functioning Autistic.
During the 2006-2007 school year, our son will still be in pre-school and our daughter will be in 10th grade.
If you want to know what intrests our two kids have, feel free to ask.

My family and I live in HPP and we have three kids, 10 yr old girl, 13 yr old boy, and a 16 yr old boy. They all seem to like it here, and even like their schools. We are planning on having a bbq/get together at our place in the not too distant future, and will be encouraging people who have kids to bring them. Maybe we can make this the second Punatic Party?? We have plenty of room here to have lots of people over. Either way, we will be letting everyone know soon what date we will be having this.
Good luck to you and your family!
Aloha,
Mark

Hi jm,
I'm curious as to which school your 13 year-old attends and how he likes it. I interview with the recruiter in Denver on Sat for middle school math teacher openings in Puna/Hilo. I'm not familiar with the local schools' "personalities."

He goes to Pahoa Intermediate/High. I've heard alot of bad talk about the school, but he seems to really like it. I think it's like everything else here in Hawaii, it all depends on your attitude. Puna has become much more ethnically and socially diverse over the last decade or so, and I think it has had some good affects on the general way of thinking here. But then again, not everyone fits in here, it's a move that requires alot of research and forethought. Good luck!

Dear Mark,
I'll be in Hilo in April and my husband and two children will be in Hilo in June.
Good to hear that Pahoa Intermediate/High School is good for your son.
We hope we can attend a Punatic party this summer.
