This is the latest summary of changes to Chapt 10--they don't provide the details but it looks identical to their last revision. The revision still excludes permitting for clearing 1 acre or less, therefore providing no oversight or protection for most clearings that take place. There is still no change in the vegetation section, therefore no link of forest protection to erosion control which leads to drainage issues, flooding and near shore sedimentation.
The revision does not comply with the Puna CDP which is now law, "Amend grading and grubbing...to protect native species, geologic and historical features by preventing pin to pin clearing and grading encroachments.."
The public comment meetings are Waimea Elementary. School 11/18; Pahoa Neighborhood Ctr 11/19; Pahala Neighborhood Ctr. 11/20; Aupuni Center Conf. Rm 11/24; Laupahoehoe School Cafeteria 11/25. All meetings are 6:00-8:00 pm.
