Is frogs or toad good for the garden?
#1
This morning i saw 2 frogs or toads(not sure which is it) mating in my pond. There was a clear string of eggs coming out of the female. Should I let them be or get rid of them?

Personally I would get rid of them.... There are more than enough cane toads running around. I would keep them around only if some one could tell me for sure they eat coquis.

If the eggs stay in a string rather than clumping into a mass, they are probably toad eggs. I do not know about cane toads, but I like to have the native toads in my garden in Louisiana - and the frogs - no coqui! They all eat insects so are good to have around.

Are these the same kind that kill dogs who play with them?

Dogs need to be trained not to attack em! The toads train em the hard way!

Toads are good for gardens, they eat a lot of destructive bugs. If I find a cane toad, I'll bring it home and put it in my garden and give it an upside down broken clay flowerpot to live under. They like dark moist spots to hang out in during the day.

If you have a small dog which chews on the cane toad, you could end up with a sick or dead dog, but most dogs won't chew on them.
