The mountain observatories are beautiful this morning, from their webcams... still hiding from Puna;

Right after posting was out working in the yard & the clouds started to lift from the mountain (still grey overhead) The snow is incredible! the whole black band & into the brown band.... Christmas eve there was just a few streaks!
Looks like we will have a snowy winter!

My DH and a friend went skiing the day before yesterday (Monday). They brought back a truckload of snow for his friend's kids so everyone got to play in the snow yesterday. Brrr! It is hard to breathe up there so the girls stayed down the mountain and had a tough day out shopping along with what seemed like the rest of the island in Hilo town.
We did see snow in Hilo town, too! A whole red truck full of it where someone else had brought snow down the mountain.
