Pahao Village Sign

I was sent pictures of the Hawaiian Beaches Action Team freshening up the Pahao Village sign in town...

These guys do not get much press, but they don't seem to care ether.

Like Fred says, "they don't talk, they do."

The "ahoa" village sign on the main drag in front of the old church that is no longer there was infamous for losing it's "P".

My understanding is, they shamed the county into taking care of the parks in Beaches... might work for the people that live in town...

As a member of the HB Action Team I can tell you that we don’t do it for publicity. Keep the reporters and camera’s in Hilo. We do it cuz’ we love our community and neighbors. We’re like the Menehune, we go out, get it done and go home. A smile, or handshake and a thank you are all we need to keep going.
I once read a post on this site that the only reason Fred does this work is to enhance his property value, I guess they don’t know Fred very well.
Puna as a whole got the short end of the stick by not voting Fred in.
I haven't seen much from Faye in the last few months and Fred just keeps on tickin'.

That last photo is of Kash and Margaret. They are our neighbor from the north [Canada] and come here for the winters and spend the summers back in the north. Both are wonderful people and are among the first founding fathers of the Action Care Team [ACT] The name has been changed to Hawaiian Beaches Action Team, but they are all the same people.

Yep, they are great people, I wish they could be with us all year. Unfortunately the socialist country that they are from does not allow them to be out of the country more than 6 months or they lose their pensions/health care.
