Hey Erin! We saw some at the Maku'u Market this weekend...look for Marvin - he's the guy that's always got banana plants and organic honey from his property up in Mtn. View. He's brilliant. If he doesn't have one on Sunday, he can get you one for sure.

You bet! Beware though, he always has some really cool exotic fruiting plant that will amaze you. We got our Brazilian Tree Tomato ("Tamatillo") from him. (As opposed to a "Tomatillo")
ENJOY!

I like red bananas. I've only had them once but they were so tasty I couldn't forget them. They taste like ice cream. I think they were Jamaican or Cuban bananas.

They are Cuban bananas bystander, and ours' just fruited last month!! We are very excited...it's a dwarf so easy to reach.
Actually, we got our Cuban banana tree from the same farmer - Marvin at the Maku'u Market.
They taste amazing.

I think Marvin was telling me that the Ae Ae were in the old old for royalty only and was punishable by death if you ate one. Of course what punishment wasn't death back then.... an extreme method of population control

They aren't exactly the best eating banana, kinda "so-so" in my list, but they are a very pretty banana plant. They look particularly nice under a full moon. They are also a very expensive banana and they don't grow as prolifically as the usual green ones.
