What can we do to help those who may be harmed by the coming storm? We at the Lamont Ranch have food and shelter available. No luxury but high ground if needed and a roof, a fireplace for warmth.....
Let's take care of one another. We are, after all, the Woodstock generation.

hit the floor each morning, the devil says
"Oh Crap, She's up!"

Aloha Pam, If we find ourselves in a compromised situation and lack power the best course is to seek out situations within your grasp or view.
If we have power and access I will add a forum to Punaweb to try to coordinate assistance with needs. PW did that before with extreme Vog condition Volcano.
There will be local citizens trained in civil defense and assistance who should make themselves apparent. Community Centers are a focal point.
People should remember that to be of assistance to others you first need to take good care of yourself.
In the course of bad weather events it is very unwise to travel. Hunker down and wait. The ability of this island to absorb water must be seen to be believed... but roads can and will flood. You will be safer in your own prepared setting.
I also recommend to not become too alarmed with the potential of a storm several hundred miles out. The Pacific is huge and we are small and favorably located. Twleve hours out we will have a much better picture of what may or may not be coming.
Enjoy the day.
Assume the best and ask questions.
