Plant it Hawaii is a good source and also there is a book at borders called " Growing fruits, and Growing Vegetables in Hawaii" author is Kathy Oshiro. The book has tons of information for successful planting, growing, fertilizing, composting etc.

Good luck,
Cheers

The best book is Permacopia,, An Encyclopedia of Plants for a Sustainable Hawai'i Book II. I and III are also good. Usually at Basically Books.

Above 3000 ft? Plenty. See Waimea and Volcano. and lots of Hamakua and Kona >3000' is very productive.
Lots that grows <500' (e.g. pineapples) will not do so well >1,000' and vice versa.
Coconuts? <800'?
