This is why:

because he wants to make sure you pay more and more for your energy, and that directly affects every Puna resident.
For those who say that this man has nothing to do with policy, I beg to differ.
When an additional carbon tax shows up your HECO bill in the future, you will see how this man did directly affect your life.

Well Obama himself admits that his proposed participation in the Copenhagen deal will "necessarily raise energy costs", as well as cost lots of jobs to US workers. It's part of his plan. But if you are a chinese worker, you can jump for joy. China has not agreed to participate because apparently 'they haven't been an industrial polluter as long as USA'. Well, after numerous extended stays in China, I can attest that both the air and water are horrible, they have almost no concern for the environment at all.
Oh, and how much of that Helco carbon tax will go to Mr. Gore, even after he's made a fool of himself in Copenhagen?

First it was Prince Philip and now Prince Charles. Neither have any influence in Puna or Hawaii nor do they have any influence in the UK where they're both seen as slightly mad.
Are you really trying to make the claim that Prince Charles wants Puna residents to pay more? Or Prince Philip? This is really clutching at straws. You imply that this man (Charles or Philip?) has an influence on policy, so can you actually tell us what it is?

I'm starting to get the impression that 808blogger thinks the royal family rules the UK (and possibly the world?) rather than the elected government. That isn't the case of course and since they have little or no political power in the UK it's even harder to find a connection to Puna.
Nevertheless, I don't know if any of you have seen the movie "The Queen". If you haven't and want to get some idea of the royal family and politics in the UK then I recommend this movie (it won an Oscar or two I think). It's up there in my five favorite movies of all time.

Here's a response to the 'Charles bashing' in today's London Daily Telegraph. Would that we had more like him in Hawaii to counter the folly of our elected officials. I invite you to do some research into what this man has done over his lifetime to date, and compare him with the sorry crowd we call our leaders.
