Land Blessing
#1
Aloha all,

I am about to break ground on a new home and want to have a blessing prior to groundbreaking.

I am looking for more information on a traditional blessing - what is the honorarium? do i need any items/food for the officiant? This is a small affair with only a couple people and the officiant - not a large "party" as I will probably have a larger blessing when the home is ready for move in.

Can anyone help me with these questions?

Thank you.

we have given the officiant an amount between $50-$100. some people give more. some less. we usually give the envelope with a small gift. ask the officiant if he/she wouldn't mind staying for lunch. it doesn't have to be an elaborate affair.
