Last night my 3 year old corgi started to act strange. He was unsteady on his feet as though he were drunk. This morning he had a normal BM and was eating and drinking but he still isn't acting the same. This is a high energy and vocal dog, it is weird to see him act this was..We've only been here 2 months so I don't know if he ate something (or licked a toad)...Well we are off to the vet. I'll let you know what it is
Toads will have that effect, but of course could be something else, so good you are going to the vet. Best wishes!

Kathy is right about the toads. It happens many times, but it is better to be safe now than sorry later. Our dogs (who are not notably clever) have blessedly learned to leave the toads alone. I hope your corgi gets back to his spunky self soon.

It does sound like a toad. I hope that you are back from the vet and all is okay with your sweet corgi. Much Light,

One of my dogs can't seem to break her habit of messing with those toads, I guess you could say she is a toad sucker. The poison makes her foam like crazy and I have to rinse her mouth out with flowing water until she quits foaming, usually about 20-30 minutes. We now don't let our girls out unattended after dark, especially if it has been raining. I hope you dog is better soon.
