There's a thread of
Dan De Soto,Mutual Underwriters agent,in the
building forum, but not everyone goes there.
Anyway, I just saved more than $300 on my house insurance (zone2).
Actually,it's $500 less because we "trimmed " the HIPA original.
Thank you,Dan!
Here's his info:

],long before the info on this forum.
He was recommended by my financial broker and I used Dan for my construction loan insurance.

Dan saved us several hundred dollars in Pahoa too.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Yes, our home in HPP is in lava zone 3.
However, our farm (with two houses) is in lava zone 2.

Good to have this recommendation. Are Nanawale and Nanawale Farm Lots in lava zone one or two?

Most of Nanawale is in Lava Zone 2. However there also is a smalal portion in Lava Zone 1. I believe it is a very small portion.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced the same.
I signed the agreement, paid right away and now received this threatening note to cancel my policy if I don't pay more than $200 extra.2 items are hidden fees - another "company fee" and "surplus line tax".
The third fee was "AMW HOME NEW".
Note - the cancellation threat was due to the fact that I didn't received the note in time (I don't know why it was sent to my old address in CA).
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I left Dan a message.Whether he is going to fix it or not - I think
the fact of extra fees sent after the policy was signed and the check cashed needs to be addressed.
