water,water, my everything needs water...

wow, this is the blunder on my behalf. By trusting the weather man's report, I have taken my catchment down to it's last few drops. I'm in desperate need of water! Does anyone know of a water truck with same day delivery down in HPP? I'm afraid I'll run out today if I don't get!?

I've found plenty of these lazy water truck operators. "We can come next Friday for your water brah!"" Don't these water truck guys understand, wait a week and rain is likely to come? Plenty cancellations come that way, yet these guys can't seem to figure that out!

So does anybody know of a water truck that will deliver same day in the park?

I think those "lazy water truck drivers" are totally booked up right now, with long waiting lists. I see them still filling up as late as 7 or 8 at night and they delivered my neighbor's water after 9 one night. I don't think people who are working 10 to 14 hour days trying to get people water "can't figure it out." Dealing with droughts is how they make their living, but any given driver can only make so many deliveries in a day, all they can do is put you on the list with everyone else and get to you when they can.

Lots of people need water right now, you just have to wait your turn or try offering to pay extra for same day delivery, someone might do it.

I ran out of water on my catchment on Monday. I then drained my jacquzzi and put that into the catchment. That added about 300 gallons. But Im getting close to the bottom again. My wife is Athabaskin Indian and she's been doing a rain dance every day to help.... Maybe tonight we'll get some measurable rainfall! Keeping fingers crossed!

What size tanks do you folks who are running out have? We have a 15000 gallon tank which I've always felt very thankful for, and ours is still close to full. I don't quite understand why - three of us are in the household plus always some guests. My son says it's because of our vast roof which catches every drop. Or are most people's tank capacities smaller?
Also, the weather forecasts in the Tribune Herald are a joke. "Sunny [or cloudy] with a shower or two..." Every day the same. What planet does the forecaster live on? Or has a chimp been doing the forecasts? They've sounded the same for years.

I believe most catchment tanks are 10,000 gallons on people's property.

Thanks all for the numbers of water delivery people.. I gonna try to see if we get rain tonight!

We have a 15,000 gallon tank also, and have never had to fill it before, except the first year after we moved here and were a bit clueless about water conservation during certain parts of the year, as well as having six people living here at that time.

We have been here nine years now, so eight of them without having to buy water has been very nice, but this seems like the longest period we have gone without any rain since we moved here. The light rain two weeks ago helped considerably and brought our tank up quite a bit, but still not to the halfway mark.

We are down to about a third of a tank and if it does not rain this weekend we will order water next week. I am not going to take the tank down to within inches hoping for rain, at some point we will just have to bite the bullet and pay for the water.

And yes, we are down to wetting, scrubbing, rinsing for showers, the toilet gets flushed once a day, and this week the laundry may get re-worn without a wash, except for a load of underwear.

We have a huge roof also, but it can only pour in water when it is raining.
