Keaau/ HPP

I was looking for some properties close to Hilo .Is HPP the same as Keaau?
I am also interested in Kurtistown.I know it's not Puna but if you can tell some basic information that would be great .Thank you.

HPP, Kea'au, and Kurtistown are all in Puna district. HPP is a private "substandard" (by County definition) subdivision, most of which has a Kea'au physical address, but none of which is in the village of Kea'au. HPP has private roads and we currently pay $200+ per year in road assessments to maintain them. You can learn more about HPP at www.hawaiianparadisepark.org . There are also other private subdivisions in Puna with Kea'au and Kurtistown physical addresses, so don't assume that an on-line real estate listing with those addresses is in an area with full County services.

Some realtors offer informational synopses of all the private subdivisions on their websites. Some helpful Punawebber will likely post a link on this thread.

Thank you,Jerry.Keaau village -that's what I thought Keaau is. At this moment I am not ready for an agent but when the time comes I'll most likely use John Dirgo .Kapohocat,thank you for your post!

Chris, you don't have to be ready for an agent in order to contact an agent. Buying property is not like going into the supermarket to buy bread. Get in touch with John (I mean the other John![][][]) now, tell him what you are looking for and he will keep an eye out for you. John Dirgo is one of the few better and knowledgeable real estate brokers, I always recommend him to my clients who are interested in Puna.
