Does anyone know who the cheapest is for cinder, gravel, and dirt. I live in orchidland.

I tried the search feature, but i cannot seem to find the answer I am looking for.

To my understanding, there's no deal on cinder. 2 companies - Bryson's and Sanford's - about the same and you can buy only big quantity and it's expensive.

I don't remember the exact figures, but a big truck load was about $450 for cinder soil.My neighbor told me that is about to cover 2 inches high of our small 8000 lots( - a house area).

You can also go down to the quarry, off Kapoho road, and they both will fill pick-ups or trailers. Red cinder can be about $20.00 a yard,(small pick-up load), up to almost $40.00 for a mix of cinder, dirt, and macnut husks. I go and get a yard at a time of cindersoil just to keep around for planting. Remember that a yard of cindersoil can weigh almost 1500 lbs. but just cinder is much lighter.

Jay,do you have the address or more detailed directions?
I am also wondering if they'd sell less - I don't have a truck.

I forget the mile marker but if you are going down the road from Pahoa towards Kapoho, in the last big sweeping turn before the four corner intersection at the red road, you will see a good red cinder drive on the left. Go up there and you should find the quarry. I really doubt if they want to do anything smaller than a pick-up truck because they use a tractor that's 10' tall to load you up. Call Sanford's to ask though. 965-8144

Last Feb., we got 30 yards of red cinder delivered from Bryson's for $250, and a 20 yard load of Cinder Soil delivered for $465 - $475...( I can't remember which). It was delivered to Hawaiian Shores.
