Google and Pacman
#1
If you use Google today, you will be exposed to a celebration of PacMan. Well and good if you're a fan, BUT unfortunately Google in it's wisdom chose to leave the annoying sound on. No, you can't turn it off, and if you have your speakers on and listen for 'ping' alerts for incoming messages, Google/PacMan will be your companion all day long.
Here's a Google page with some comments: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/We...bf6b16f17f&hl=en
Note that you can't even express your opinion since comments have been closed!
Another example of the arrogance of power?

I am a Network Administrator & have had numerous calls from folks that weren't around or don't remember Pacman with the question....

"Can't get a siren and police car like noise to go off when go to internet explorer."

Yeah it caught me too, turned my speakers on after I booted and thought I had a virus since I had a different tab open.

Played a game once I figure out what was going on, although I was more of a "Crazy Climber" guy than Pacman.

Easy to get rid of, just type a character in search box and hit enter.

Would have been better if they started the sound only if you clicked the "insert coin".

More of an oversight than an abuse of power it seems. Of course were I to say otherwise they would probably be coming to get me...
