Mac/Itunes/Apple Users

I was hit this week. Sumone hacked into my Itunes acct and spent 100s of $$$. Apparently this is happening to people all over the world. Seems like its happened this week big time. Just a heads up and if you do have an acct on Itunes, remove your CC info.

SHOOTZ!!

Thanks Sammy! At first I tried to remove the number, which it wouldn't allow me to do. Then I realized I could only change it by revising the setting on type of credit card to None. That wiped the info. Some other sites I use, like Amazon or Paypal, have an option to delete a specific credit card account, and I looked for that, but it wasn't there.

How do they hack it? I looked at my stored account info, and the security code was not stored, yet it's required for making a purchase.

I have no clue Kathy. It originated somewhere in China or something. I went on the Apple/Itunes answer and question forum and apparently a whole mess of Mac/Itune users had the same thing happen to them. All said the receipts had Chinese writing, etc etc. Mine did too...

Its all good b/c my bank refunded the $$$ and everything is cherry. The only negative thing is Apple has no recourse or answer. I called their support and ended up talking to someone in India who had limited English and no clue what I was talking about. No answers, no suggestions, no directions, etc. Told me to "fill out a form" I was like what form and where. NO answers. Sad thing, everyone on the forum had the same experience. Go figure...[xx(]

So much for that whole "we are not like the other guys" concept they portray. Shame, damn shame...[}Smile][}Smile]

Thanks for the heads-up about this. I've removed my credit card information from ITunes on both my computer and my girlfriend's computer. I've read the numerous threads online about this breach. It seems a group of hackers have penetrated Apple's severs. I can't fathom any other explanation for the rash of fraudulent activity.
