For the last hour or so a couple of helicopters have been flying over Orchidland. One of them is yellow with a red rope hanging down with some sort of sensor on the end.
Not 5 minutes ago it flew over with a person taking the place of the sensor. What gives?!

The area they were hovering over for most of the time was somewhere between 37th and 38th, Orchidland Drive and Laniuma. I'm guessing one of our neighbors is a grower... I know, we're all shocked! shocked!

The yellow helicopters are the ones used for rescue.

If you are an incumbent, the Truman quote "the buck stops here" applies in all instances. She has done nothing only offers excuses. Goodbye and good riddance at election time. The same for any other incumbent who has not produced, period.

There were 4 overhead yesterday by us, inc. the yellow...about the same time (around 2 ish), a bunch more a while later (maybe 3:30-4ish), then there was the stolen auto chase & crash...no idea if they were connected.... but....

No rescues involved, unless you're talking pot. On Sunday I personally watched the yellow helicopter pick up two men (one at a time) on the line and then drop them behind some houses just off the Red Road in Kalapana. A few minutes later it retrieved them along with a small amount of (presumably) marijuana plants, in one case tied below the man and in the other in the man's hands. I believe the longish thing at the end of the line is merely a weight.
The yellow one is similar to the county rescue helicopter (good one, btw, Greg) but is not the same one. I saw it land on the lava about 75 feet from the RR to drop off and then lift up the two men and it has no orange coloring like on Chopper 1. It's likely rented for the Green Harvest operation, guided by a bigger chopper that probably is one of the two that the DEA bases at Hilo Airport.
