Wow. That rate is just more than double what we had been paying for residential electricity in Illinois.
This is a nice deal for the consumer.

mdd - Having moved from IL, electrical costs here are "sticker shock"
Most likely posts will follow that berate this payback rate, but it sure is better than no payback for excess - and may inspire hubby to push forward our PV installation plans...
It has been hard to justify the PV install costs with our houses electric usage (very minimal) and no payback....

Yes, but compared to what many implementers of residential solar and wind get reimbursed for in other states, this is still a nice deal for the consumer. The electric company should not have to pay you full retail - you aren't providing the poles, lines and grid system. It would be nice though if the residential customer was paid the same rate as others for that extra generating capacity, such as Puna Geothermal is.
(I would have been paid all of $0.06 per kwh in Illinois, hardly worth the costs and efforts,in 2008)
