Jan. 7 -- Presentation on Kilauea's 1790 eruption by HVO's Don Swanson, UH-Hilo, Wentworth Hall 1, 7 p.m.
Jan. 8 -- Three-mile guided hike to Mauna Ulu, site of the 1969-1974 east rift zone eruption, by HVO's Don Swanson. Meet at the Mauna Ulu parking area in HVNP, 9 a.m.
Jan. 11 -- After Dark in the Park: What's happening in Halema'uma'u Crater? by HVO's Matt Patrick, Kilauea Visitor Center Auditorium, 7 p.m.
Jan. 14 -- Presentation on emergency response by HVO's Jim Kauahikaua, Civil Defense's Quince Mento and HVNP's chief ranger, UH-Hilo, Wentworth Hall 1, 7 p.m.
Jan. 18 -- After Dark in the Park: Kilauea's East Rift Eruption, 28 years and counting, by HVO's Tim Orr, Kilauea Visitor Center Auditorium, 7 p.m.
Jan. 19 -- Presentation on Mauna Loa by HVO's Frank Trusdell, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park Amphitheater, 6 p.m.

Jan. 25 -- After Dark in the Park: The Life and Times of Volcanologist Frank Perret, by HVO's Jim Kauahikaua. Kilauea Visitor Center Auditorium, 7 p.m.

Jan. 28 -- Presentation on the volcanic origin of traditional Hawaiian tools by UH-Hilo's Steve Lundblad, UH-Hilo, Wentworth Hall 1, 7 p.m.
Jan. 31 -- Presentation on Mauna Loa by HVO's Frank Trusdell, Lyman Museum, Hilo, 7 p.m. $3 for nonmembers.
