Okay, I see Pam scored the white pineapple from Darrell's sale. What is the best thing about them? Sweeter? I will be over next week to move a camper onto our lot, and want to plant something special(short visit). Everyone seems to think these pineapples are special. So where can you get a few starts normally? We will be back soon with the pets for a few months after we get back to WA and reconnoiter our financial status. Is everyone certain they don't want to buy a nice house in E. WA.?

Peg, got all ours planted. Whew, 33! What a job. You can always BUY a white pineapple, eat it and then root and plant the tops! You can always come over and dig up a banana here and plant that. Um... plant papaya if you can. Those are all pretty low maint. Good Luck. You should come see the "babies" if you can during your stay; they sure aren't very little any more!

Thanks Pam, Cory had such a good time, he's always asking if we can go back! We'll see Buster and be happy. I mean we will see you and Buster. Are the pineapples really different? Or just differently colored?

They taste different and are very low in acid so most find them easier to eat and sweeter. They tend to ripen in summer months so if you want year round pineapple you'll need to plant yellows too, and there are different varieties of yellows also.
