Is our November weather here early?
#1
It has poured / more than poured actually for the last 45 minutes - our catchment tank just filled 6-8".

Buckets coming down and thunder too now.

SB said it was only misting in Hilo.

Anyone else?

[Sad] It is pouring here in Hawaiian Shores. Started about 30 minutes ago and still going strong. No thunder as of yet. Looks just as bad toward HPP, but can't see very far through the rain [Wink]

We're getting a nice downpour in the Ka'ohe Homesteads. Very welcome! This is not atypical. We've just had two years without any major Pacific storm that brought heavy rain. It's been weird, but maybe things are turning around!

Cloudy all day and maybe 30 minutes of light rain in Seaview. Made no difference in our tank. Starting to feel like it never rains here anymore. Even the usual nighttime rains have become infrequent.

I loved the rain! We took exactly the moment it began to fall in wind driven sheets to go up to Luquins. Yeah..go ahead.. form your left thumb and forefinger in the shape of an L -- stick it up on your forehead .. that's us...LOSERs...:::::::::::giggling::::::::::

Whipped out my Droid and checked the radar and was surprised to see the size and color coding of the doppler image directly over Pahoa all the way to the point. It was obvious it would be gone by the time we were finished our lunch. Was worth the wet weather to enjoy a good meal.

Didn't hear any thunder but was forecast as a possibility this afternoon and overnight near mountains and just off the coast.

Question Authority!

So it's really that we just aren't used to it after a couple of dry years? LOL

I had forgotten this weekend was close to the anniversary of this:
"The most rainfall in 24 hours was 27.24 inches (691.9 mm) on November 2, 2000."
