Animal advocacy meeting Nov. 2 in Kurtistown All interested persons are invited to a special Animal Advocacy and Reef Wildlife Protection meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Kurtistown Assembly of God, 17-550 Volcano Highway in Kurtistown.
There will be a drawing for a free spay/neuter of a dog or cat.

"Whether on land, air or sea -- find out how you can make a tremendous difference for all of Hawaii's animals," said Frannie Pueo, president of the nonprofit Hui Pono Holoholona.

"The Humane Society of the United States-HSUS, Hui Pono Holoholona and For the Fishes invite our members, supporters and other animal advocates to join us for an interactive presentation on how to get involved and be a voice for the voiceless," said Pueo.

"At the meeting, we'll discuss current animal and marine protection campaigns, and update the community on past and upcoming animal friendly legislation. Please come today to lend your voice for animals in Hawaii and beyond."
