If you want to taste some awesome Southeren food than Popolos is the place to go! Ate lunch there today. Got the fried chicken plate with corn bread and fries. Oh my gosh, these guys are the bomb!!! The fried chicken literally melts in your mouth. Service there is super friendly. Vibe is awesome! Two thumbs up
Lucys is a Mexican restraunt. They amazingly delicious too! The burritos are as a big as a newborn baby. I think one could feed two people. They grill up your meat right there for the burritos. Srvice was friendly. You get a real good vibe there too! Two thumbs up
Anyone else has some reviews too share on these two places?

I agree.. both places were good. Popolos is having some growing pains, they run out of food early. But the food quality is amazing, and the owners are so nice. Lucy's is now my favorite mexican place on the island. I have travelled a lot in Mexico and this is the closest I've found to the real deal. Popolo's is on Kiawe street in the heart of downtown. Lucy's is where the Mongolian grill was near the new laundrymat downtown. Popolo's..think fried chicken, ribs..collards, black eyed peas. Yumm!!!! Two thumbs up as well..

Popolos is where Aloha Luigi's used to be.

Get a bunch of Portuguese cabbage and cook it up. I doubt you could tell the difference. When I was living in Maili on Oahu (70s) my local kine neighbors used to compliment me on my Portuguese cabbage. I don't believe I ever told them I was raising collards.

One other good thing Popolos has going for it is a private parking lot in back. I parked there a few days ago but when I walked in they were going over the list of what they were out of. I went on down to Playa De Luna, past Garden Exchange, and had a pretty good burrito.

watch out, reviews are rating Popolo's low because they are running out of food too early (12:30!). Also, says it is a CASH only business, so be aware.
