I have some new neighbors and they have roosters, lots of them.
Although they have their roosters in hutches and
some of them are tied onto ropes like some people tie dogs and goats,
there are some escapees.
Ummm, Yippie
I also have some new trees and bushes that I'm trying to get rooted.
I'd like to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Actually 3.
To prevent me from going ballistic,
to protect my new plants from the scratching of little chicken feet
(every drop of expensive bagged soil is complete gone,
thrown all over the place, from some plants) and
to help clean the aina.....I'm looked for abandoned tires.
I'd like to place tree rings around my plants. I've made some experimental tree rings already;
formed and poured concrete, cmu's, left over metal and plastic roofing and a few others.
After checking out the construction earthship homes, I decided to try a tire tree ring.
Worked very nicely. I stacked 2 tires, screwed diamond mesh to them and covered them in ferrocement.
They look awesome.
Since anyone can get 1 gallon per person, per day
of the round rocks downtown by the canoe clubs I put those on top of the soil
and the chickens can scratch and I don't go ballistic
and I can collect tires and clean the aina.
Long story short, lol, I'm looking for piles of tires that peeps have thrown into the forest or on the side of the street or whatever.
