Especially the part about delta being a new variant, which according to the CDC was more than twice as contagious as previous strains. That would also cause a spike as shown in the charts. In Hawaii there were plenty of cases spread within the local community.
What about local residents employed as service workers at resorts and high end restaurants? Did they experience an exceptionally high number of COVID cases with their regular exposure to mainland tourists? Did they spread the virus among other workers where they worked? Were they are tested regularly and would the positive test results have shown up in the Hawaii DOH data? Did any resorts or restaurants shut down during the spike because they had so many mainland guests with asymptomatic symptoms spreading it to local resort workers? I don't recall that happening.
No, not a surprise.
So according to your idea, the Delta variant mutation was created here in Hawaii and not brought in by people traveling here from out of state. Is that correct? Someone here miraculously created a mutation that exactly duplicated the Delta variant and it was passed on sometime in early October? The Delta variant had been in the mainlands USA for a few months prior to October 8 and somehow it teleported itself from the Mainland USA to Hawaii in early October? Does the variant have a spaceship it used?
Maybe we should rename the Delta variant in Hawaii then, how 'bout we call it the Menehune variant? Oh wait, you might be on to something, maybe it got here because the Menehune brought it here after visiting their relatives in Ireland, the leprechauns. Or wait, maybe the Leprechauns materialized here to visit their cousin Menehune. Am I getting warmer? It must be some scenario similar to the above, yes?

This has to be the most straw man argument in the history of straw man arguments.

No, that’s not even close to what I said.
But it does help readers of Punaweb recognize the absurdity of some of your conspiratorial claims and comments, so thank you.

Huh? Tom,
Coming from the master of strawman arguments, that's a compliment. Of course your inability to recognize the difference between a strawman argument and a facetious reply isn't surprising either.
"Huh?" The sound of your IQ dropping, again?
What part confused you, the word efficacy, properties, short lived, against, death or some other word in there?

There you go again with a straw man. Perhaps you don't understand the concept.

Always interesting to watch: "Bonhoeffer‘s Theory of Stupidity". It's become prevalent here.

I'm going to save you the trouble Tom.
The desired properties (efficacy) of vaccination used to be defined by the CDC under the word vaccination. "the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease." That was before the adoption of the covid-19 vaccine. Shortly thereafter the CDC changed the definition by replacing the word immunity, to protection.
Then a change was done to the word, vaccine.
Pre covid-19 vaccine, vaccine read "a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease." Post covid-19 vaccine the definition was changed to "a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases."
Efficacy simply means to achieve a desired effect. And when vaccination and vaccine were defined as providing immunity to a disease, their efficacy was judged by that desired effect, immunity. Good efficacy or poor efficacy. Today, a vaccines efficacy hinges on the new definitions, which relative to pre covid-19 vaccines, the definitions would have meant we described the covid-19 vaccines as lacking efficacy. But with today's definition of vaccine, they have some efficacy, which is idiotic on its face because when the definitions changed for vaccine, the use of the word efficacy with vaccine became an arbitrary application, more inline with a property of some aspect in protection instead of what had been traditionally thought of, immunity.
Now, we say the vaccine provides some protection against the most serious complications. So yes, stupid is as stupid does and all our IQs have been lowered a bit because it.
Anything else I can clarify for you?

No, that's wrong. Efficacy is a measurement of how efficient something is in achieving a result. Now I see why you post such misleading stuff. And I really don't need a lesson from you about English given your recent posts.
