In Colorado it is now legal to posses up to 6 marijuana plants at one time and grow your own or possess a small amount of pot at one time. If Philip Morris and their ilk were wise they would just get on the band wagon cause if I can grow my own at home there's no need to go to the liquor store or buy their nasty cigarettes anymore to get a buzz. Just a thought from the mainland....good luck to my Hawaii friends.

It's great that we have a Speaker now like Joe Souki who has balls the size of cadillac hub cap, were Calvin Say walked around with "Spanish peanuts". But there are still many people, elected officials on Oahu that need to be swayed to 2013. But insist that this is 1980 "just say No", time sand believe me there are plenty of politicians who think 1980's when it comes to drugs

The public on Oahu needs to call their elected officials , and ask where they stand on Cannabis legalization. Colorado & Washington had years to prepare. They had campaign ads up and running for years in newspapers, bill boards, tv commercials. We, don't have activist with deep pockets in our state. But we have numbers, and we must mount the numbers.
I guess what I'm saying is if we get apathetic on this issue, we might not ever get a chance again. Because Hawaii is first outta the gate this legislative season for legalization we have some of the national movement helping our state, in the form of Mason Tvert! If you know anything about Mason, you know he's the head of SAFER, and was instrumental in helping colorado over the hump in it's quest for legalization. So we have some wind behind us. I just hope we can keep moving forward past the goal line.

federal] government [including its agents, the IRS], unlike the states, Hammer v. Dagenhart, 247 U.S. 251, 275, 38 S. Ct. 529, 3 A.L.R. 649, Ann. Cas. 1918E 724, possesses no inherent power in respect to the internal affairs of the states, and emphatically not with regard to legislation". [Carter v. Carter Coal Co., 298 U.S. 238 (1936)]
